After footage surfaced showing Marshawn Lynch standing to pay his respects during the Mexican National Anthem but sitting during the U.S. anthem, Trump called for the Raiders' running back to be suspended. Lynch has been silently protesting the anthem for some time now in an effort to bring attention to the social injustices that people of color face in America. Since the game against the Patriots was in Mexico City on Sunday, it looks like Lynch wanted to respect the country he was in at the time.

President Trump has drawn controversy over the past year by calling Mexicans "rapists" and being aggressive in his immigration tactics to deport "illegals." He took to Twitter on early this morning to criticize Lynch for "disrespecting" the American flag.

"Marshawn Lynch of the NFL's Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down," he tweeted.

While Lynch has held his tongue during moments in the press, his mother took the time to clap back at the President for condemning her son. "What NFL team do Trump own ? oh yeah they wouldnt let him have one ,!! LMAO," she tweeted.

President Trump and the NFL have been back and forth over the players kneeling during the national anthem at games. Trump has called on the league to fire players for protesting during the anthem at games.

Momma Lynch isn't the only athlete-parent Trump seems to be rubbing the wrong way. LaVar Ball and the president have been shading one another since the return of LiAngelo Ball after a shoplifting incident in China.
