After being released from 23-hour lockdown in solitary confinement, and transferred from the State Correctional Institution in Camp Hill, PA to a medium security facility 120 miles West, in Chester, Meek Mill is reportedly doing well and thankful for all of the love that he has received. This, according to Colin Kaepernick, who told fans on Twitter on Monday (November 20) that he's been in contact with the rapper and was given the green light to update them on his condition.

"Spoke to Meek Mill & he wanted ppl to know regardless of his unjust situation, he’s in good spirits & humbled by the support the people have shown him," Kaepernick tweeted. "We'll continue to fight against the harsh sentencing practices that have affected Meek & millions of other POC for generations."

Meek's transition to his own cell in general population comes days after he was denied a bail hearing. In taking his celebrity into consideration, Meek was reportedly being housed in solitary for his own protection. Meanwhile, the streets have been mobilizing in support of the rapper's fight to have the 2-4 year sentence he was served by Judge Genece E. Brinkley earlier this month, overturned. Scores of celebrities have also voiced their support, with Sixers legend Julius Irving and members of the Philadelphia Eagles showing up at a rally for his release, and JAY-Z penning a New York Times piece in advocacy of his cause.
