The ‘Miss World’ competition recently took place in China, and a medical student named Manushi Chhillar took the 2017 title. According to reports, this is the first time in 17 years that a participant from India has taken the title. The 20-year-old was trained as an Indian classical dancer, and also is a painter. According to the Miss World website, Chhillar is hoping to open a string of non-profit hospitals in more impoverished areas.

The medical student took to Twitter to give thanks for the win, saying “Thank you, everyone, for your constant love, support.” She continued by saying “This one’s for you India.” Chhillar received much love via social media for her victory, with the win even garnering a response from the minister of home state Haryana—Manohar Lal Khatter.

Chhillar’s victory makes her the sixth Indian winner of the competition. She is joining the ranks of previous winners of the ‘Miss World’ competition like Bollywood actresses Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra.
