Pink's return to the American Music Awards was well received from fans who've watched her grace the ceremony since 2001 when she burst onto the scene with her hit "Most Girls." Most recall last marveling over her knack for a live performance when she delivered her song "Try" with an acrobatic dance number that saw her swinging from a chandelier in 2012. For her 2017 performance, the Philly singer turned it up a notch.

A couple of hours after opening the show with a Kelly Clarkson duet of R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts," Pink would come back around to do a solo number. Only this time, she didn't return to the Microsoft Theater stage to entertain her crowd of fellow artists, and viewers at home.

Instead, the telecast switched locations to a public setting, outside of the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Cameras were angled upwards to capture the bold crooner as she sang "Beautiful Trauma" on the side of the tower, while attached to a chord. Flanked by six dancers, the daring performance aired without a hitch.

Pink had been keeping followers on social media up-to-date with the progression of her rehearsals for the moment. In a video she recently posted to Instagram, she speaks on how intimidating it was to prepare for. "This is by far the craziest, most insane thing I have ever attempted to do. This is the first time that I have ever panicked," she said in one recording.
