Previously, news surfaced of a 26-year-old male escort named Gemmel Moore who was found dead in the bathroom of a West Hollywood apartment that belongs to a Democratic donor named Ed Buck. A report surfaced from WeHo Times alleging that Buck would pay black male escorts to ingest fatal amounts of crystal meth during their encounters.
According to reports, Gemmel Moore relocated from Texas to West Hollywood in 2017. Moore’s friend and roommate, Samuel Lloyd said that Buck alleged was obsessed with Moore, and sought him out. Lloyd spoke at a vigil for Moore where he said “[Buck] went out there searching for other men that were struggling and on the streets and had no money… men who had never experienced drugs before.”
Lloyd went on to say “This is the kind of guys Ed Buck searched for.” One male escort named Damar Love spoke to the WeHo Times and noted that he met up with Buck on at least three different occasions.
Love said “When I get there, I always want my money up front, and that’s how it always started. Initially, when I got there I understood that he was already well under the influence because he told me he had already been up for two days and was still doing drugs as far as liquid GHB, shooting meth, and smoking it.” Love went on to say “When he insisted that I get high and continue to get high, that’s when I started to do my research on him.. I was like, “Why are you insisting that I be high?”
Despite allegations against him, Ed Buck has not been charged with any crime.
