Aly Raisman, the Olympic gold medal gymnast and team captain, told CBS' 60 Minutes that she was abused by the team's former doctor, Larry Nassar, during an interview airing on Sunday.

During the interview, Raisman explains that she was first treated by Nassar when she was 15 and she spoke to FBI investigators about him after the 2016 Summer Games in Rio.

Raisman also speaks about people questioning why Nassar's accusers didn't speak up sooner. "Why are we looking at why didn't the girls speak up?," she says. "Why not look at what about the culture? What did USA Gymnastics do, and Larry Nassar do, to manipulate these girls so much that they are so afraid to speak up?"

Raisman goes on to explain her reasoning behind wanting to speak out:

"I'm really upset," Raisman says. "When I see these young girls that come up to me, and they ask for pictures or autographs, whatever it is, I just — I can't — every time I look at them, every time I see them smiling, I just think — I just want to create change so that they never, ever have to go through this."

Nassar is currently in jail awaiting sentencing for child pornography and a trial on charges of sexual misconduct. The former doctor has been accused of alleged abuse by over 125 women.
