Famed former Phillies pitcher and two-time Cy Young award winner Roy Halladay was killed on Tuesday after his plane crashed in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida.

Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco commented on the situation, revealing that the 40-year-old's Icon A5 plane went down about noon on Tuesday (November 7) near Holiday, Florida. Police responded to a call about a downed plane, and no survivors were found. They didn't reveal whether another passenger was on board with Halladay.
