Donald Trump and his combative words against North Korea may be coming to an end soon, as he recently stated that he thinks it is time to make a deal with the rogue nation. During a speech delivered in Seoul, South Korea, Trump said: “I really believe that it makes sense for North Korea to come to the table and to make a deal that’s good for the people of North Korea and the people of the world.”

Trump went on to say “we hope to God [the US] never have to use” any of the destroyers and submarines that are on standby in case issues occur with North Korea.

During a joint press conference with South Korea President Moon Jae In, Trump spoke on what he thinks North Korea’s perception of the US is, saying “I think we’re making a lot of progress. I think we’re showing great strength. I think they understand we have unparalleled strength.

There has never been strength like it.” When asked if he would be attempting to push for a one-on-one chat with Kim Jong Un and the North Korean government, he said “I don’t like talking about whether I see success or not in a case such as this. We like to play our cards a little bit close to the vest.”

Previously, Trump resorted to name-calling, referring to Kim Jong Un as “Rocket Man” during a series of tweets aimed at him. Along with that, he threatened North Korea saying they would feel “fire and fury” if any attack was initiated.
