Audience members who watched the Wendy Williams show live in her Manhattan studio, and on television witnessed a shocking moment during Tuesday's (Oct. 31) episode, when the 53-year-old veteran host fainted during the show.

Wendy managed to deliver 48-minutes worth of airtime for the annual Halloween special, but her voice suddenly began to distort and her eyes went buggy before she paused and collapsed. Six minutes later the show resumed and she got back to her Halloween Costume Contest segment, but not before explaining what had just happened to her. “That was not a stunt. I’m overheated in my costume and I did pass out. But you know what, I’m a champ, and I’m back!” Wendy told the audience, to rousing applause.

It is reported that earlier on, Wendy spoke of Halloween being one of her worst times of the year, stating at one point that she was, "doing this under duress." After making it through the final show segment it seemed that the host was still out of it, asking: “Is that the end of the show? Was I passed out for that long?”

Wendy would take to social media soon after the incident to comfort her followers. "Everybody relax. I'm doing fine, just need some water and electrolytes," she tweeted, before poking fun at her fall by concluding that she "slayed and laid Halloween, LOL!"
