The entire family of a Long Island household was busted over the weekend for coordinating with one another to pull off a string of recent robberies by knifepoint.

Siblings Rick Mascia, 25, and Lauren Mascia, 31, were taken into custody along with their mother Deborah Salvatore, 55, on Saturday, October 21. Over the past month, armed thefts have been reported at various Family Dollar, Carvel and Dunkin Donuts shops in Farmingville, Lake Ronkonkoma, Patchogue, Medford, and Coram. There were at least six in total up until the seventh landed the trio behind bars.

It had normally been the case that Rick and Lauren conducted the robberies while their mother stayed at home. Rick was usually the driver and Lauren normally went inside and committed the stickup. But on Saturday it was the mother who drove, and her son who did the stealing. To his misfortune, Rick was nabbed shortly after making away with money at a Dunkin Donuts on Middle Country Road, as was Deborah. The mom and son duo would go on to lead the police back to their home, where Lauren had been sitting the robbery out.

Due to Deborah Salvatore's limited role in the acts over time, she was only charged with one count of robbery, while the other two incurred six counts in the first-degree.
