Chris Brown says that its "irrelevant" if he spoke with Rhianna before releasing his documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life because the film was for his fans.

On Monday, Chris Brown dropped by Hot 97's Ebro In The Morning for a rare interview to promote his upcoming album, Heartbreak On a Full Moon. Breezy spoke on a broad range of topics from his new 45 song album, to where he sees himself musically in the future, to the relationship with his daughter Royalty.

At the 3 minute mark, as the conversation began, the topic of Brown's documentary came into focus. The candid look into Brown's life was cited as a change for the singer who is ordinarily quiet on some issues.

"I think with this film, it kind of embodied what my fans actually respect me for," Brown said when asked why he put out such honest account of his life.

After stating he used the documentary to get his fans to understand him better, Brown said, "I just let it be natural and be real and let it flow from the heart but at the same time just being a man about everything in its entirety and who I am as an artist now."

When pressed on if he spoke to Rhianna before releasing the film, Brown said, "That's irrelevant at this point. The movie's out."
