Grand jury transcripts have revealed that Suge Knight threatened director F. Gary Gray during the filming of "Straight Outta Compton." Suge was reportedly angry at how he was being depicted in the film as well as the lack of compensation. F. Gary Gray would eventually hang up and ignore the Blood gang member, which led to Suge sending threatening texts. The texts said, "I will see u in person ... u have kids just like me so let's play hardball," followed by racial slurs and a fury of curses. Suge went on to text: "I'm from Bomton, I'm a Blood criminal street gang member from the city of Compton. Time has arrived Faith in God keep ppl safe. The Devil's Money can't save No 1."

According to the transcripts, which were recently made public, F. Gary Gray was so shaken by the messages that he spent two days dodging any questions related to it during the grand jury hearing. At the hearing, Gray would claim that he didn't remember any messages and when questioned about the movie itself, he would have a hard time remembering any details about it. "He's so afraid he came in here and lied under oath. He's perjuring himself because he's that afraid," said the deputy D.A. Cynthia Barnes.

Knight's anger with the film carried over to January 2015, when he slammed his Ford truck into two men. One of the men, Terry Carter, died from his injuries. Suge remains in jail with a bail of $10 million. His trial date is set for January 2018.
