In an interview with CNBC, five-time champion Kobe Bryant expressed his thoughts on Lonzo Ball's Big Baller Brand shoe. In the interview, Kobe says, "I'm all for doing thing differently, I just think you have to obsess over every single detail about that product...Before getting into the marketing and the storytelling of it all, you have to get the product right...That's how you challenge the big guys, with innovation and high-quality product. Then you give yourself a serious fighting chance."

Kobe's comments on Big Baller Brand come shortly after Lavar Ball announced a redesign of Lonzo's signature shoe, the ZO2. Kobe's comments on quality may be a reflection on Lavar's comments on his own shoe. Lavar Ball said, "Everything on that shoe, Lonzo created with no team. Just the creativity of a 19-year-old that knows what he likes. After all these shoes, it's a mixture of everything that he likes … A shoe is not that big of a deal. It's two things, stitching, and glue. It isn't a science project."

Lonzo had a rough debut against the Clippers but bounced back in a major way against the Phoenix Suns, narrowly missing a triple-double with 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists. The Lakers play the New Orleans Pelicans next at home.
