Lonzo Ball received quite a bit of criticism, specifically from Michael Rapaport, following his debut against hometown rival, the Los Angeles Clippers. Ball was held to a pedestrian performance of only three points, four assists, and nine rebounds. He also found himself being verbally chastised by Clippers guard Patrick Beverly who made it a point to rough up the star rookie. However, the debut jitters seem to have worn off after the Lakers took on the Phoenix Suns. Ball played up to expectation dropping 29 points while adding 11 boards and 9 assists.

Critics are going to continue to pile on Lonzo Ball for the simple fact that his father LaVar has been so outspoken to the media about his eldest son's ability. However, Lonzo doesn't seem to get shaken when he underperforms nor too excited when he plays well. That balanced mentality can prove invaluable because this is only the second game of the season and everyone fans and haters alike will have their eyes on the Lakers boxscore to see how Lonzo did.
