L.A. utility man Enrique Hernandez electrified fans on hand at Wrigley Field and other viewers as Dodgers defeat the Chicago Cubs in the fifth game of Major League Baseball's National League Championship Series on Thursday night (October 19). The former Houston Astros draftee contributed seven of the eleven runs L.A. put on the board in their 11-1 victory, with the first three-home-run night by a Dodgers player in history. And each shot sent a charge through the veins of followers who've waited 29 years to see their team in the World Series again.

The last time the Dodgers made it all the way to baseball supremacy, Magic Johnson was enjoying the love he received for bringing the Lakers their fifth and final NBA Finals Championship under his tenure. It was 1988, and a good time to be an L.A. sports fan. Fast forward to 2017, and with what many believe to be the beginning of a basketball resurgence under the guidance of Johnson himself, it also has to be a good time to be Magic. And with Johnson owning a stake in the Dodgers, the Lonzo Ball era may have to wait a couple of weeks before it has his full attention. He'll without a doubt be splitting his time between the Staples Center and Dodgers Stadium, where the 104-58 team looks to follow up their dominant regular season by handing Johnson a trophy.

On Thursday night, his joy over the Dodgers success was apparent. Footage taken from inside of the executive suite shows the basketball great bursting with excitement after Hernandez launched one of his three dingers. It is an excitement that encapsulates the mood of the World Series favorites as they wait in anticipation for their competitors to be named, pending the results of the Yankees vs. Astros series in Houston.
