The number of counterprotesters who showed up to condemn alt-right/White nationalist leader Richard Spencer vastly outnumbered members of his base who came out to support his speech at the University of Florida, Gainesville, on Thursday (Oct. 19). But of the dozens who did show up in his favor, there were a couple who were loud and proud in representing their White supremacist ideology. One man, in particular, wore his neo-nazi identity on his sleeve and he paid for it with a couple of fists to the face.

Cameras surrounded skinhead Randy Furniss as he boldly walked through a crowd of students and locals who were present to protest Spencer's visit. He was heckled and shouted down by the group and punched in the face twice. Blood trickled from his lip after the first strike. Furniss was then embraced by a Black man who stepped up and put his arms around Furniss and pulled him in for an abrasive hug. "Why you don't like me, bro? Huh? What is it? What is it?” he asked. Furniss cracked a smile, but then was hit once more, prompting security to move in and escort him to safety.

The confrontation was one of several dustups that required a response from authorities. According to reports, two were arrested, and five suffered minor injuries as a result of the faceoffs.
