It has been announced that more than 20 years after her tragic killing, Latin superstar Selena will receive a post humorous star on the Hollywood walk of fame. As a singer, songwriter, spokesperson, model, actress, and fashion designer, Selena was one of the most celebrated entertainers of all time before she was tragically gunned down by her manager. By the age of 23, Selena had already become one of the highest selling Latin entertainers of all time and would go on the inspire a generation a Latin Americans including Jennifer Lopez and many others.
It was also announced that November 3rd would be named after Selena in Los Angeles with actress Eva Longoria presenting the honor. Longoria was also informed that she would also have a star on the walk of fame the same year as Selena. She had this to say of the Selena star of the walk of fame: "I could never have dreamed that one day I would receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But even more ironic is that the same year I receive my star, so does my idol, my inspiration, my fellow Tejana, my fellow Corpus Christi native, Selena Quintanilla. She was the reason I even dared to dream that a better life was possible.”
