Florida rapper XXXTentacion has signed a record deal with Capitol Music Group reportedly worth $6 million, according to Billboard. The deal is through indie distributor Caroline and will cover yet-to-be-released material.

The 19-year-old, whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy, has become one of the most successful new rappers in the industry. He emerged in February with his single "Look At Me." He released his debut full-length album 17 via Bad Vibes Forever/EMPIRE Records on Aug. 25, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 87,000 album units. The album has earned 313,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. through the week ending Oct. 12, according to Nielsen Music. XXXTentacion was also apart of XXL's 2017 Freshman class.

Things haven't been smooth sailing for the controversial rapper, however. On Oct. 8, 2016, he was arrested following allegations of domestic violence against his girlfriend at the time. He was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness tampering. On Sept. 8, Pitchfork obtained and published excerpts from a 142-page deposition the alleged victim gave to authorities in January. The graphic details of the alleged incidents renewed interest in the case and led to more people calling on others not to support the rapper while he has maintained his innocence.
