Former President Barack Obama has made his way back on the campaign path and found his way to New Jersey. According to reports, this is the first appearance Obama has made on the campaign road since he departed from the White House in January 2017. Obama’s travels found him making his way to New Jersey to rally for Democrat Phil Murphy, who is running for Governor of New Jersey.

When Obama made his way to the podium to speak, he was met with a chant of “four more years” by a supportive crowd. However, Obama quickly shifted the focus off of him by saying, “I will refer you to both the Constitution, as well as to Michelle Obama, to explain why that will not happen,” before laughing and giving his support to Phil Murphy.

For those unaware, Phil Murphy previously served as an ambassador to Germany under the Obama Administration. Murphy is running against Republican Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno. The winner of the race for governor will be replacing Chris Christie. According to current poll reports, Murphy is currently ahead of Guadagno. The election for the role of New Jersey’s Governor is set to take place in November 2017.
