Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman says he's "not surprised" that the NFL has yet to sign free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Sherman, who has become known as an outspoken critic of the league, stated that the NFL has colluded to keep Kap out of the league.

“No, I’m not that surprised. This league is odd in that way,” Sherman said after being asked whether he was surprised Kaepernick remains unemployed. “I think they had a point to make, and they made it,’’

Sherman went on to say that it's "odd" teams are so adamant to say they don't want the services of a quarterback who took his team to the Superbowl.

"You hear people saying they don’t want him as their quarterback. It’s okay to say ‘he’s not for us, he’s not our guy," Sherman said. "But some people are vehemently saying ‘no.’ It’s like, ‘well you can just say no.’ He’s not a bad player. It’s not like we are talking about a player who has never won a lot of games or never taken his team to the Super Bowl."

While Colin Kaepernick has filed a grievance against the NFL for collusion, Sherman believes that it's clear the league is working against the quarterback as there are so many lackluster excuses as to why teams refuse to sign Kap.

"'Here are quarterbacks out there who have never taken their team to the playoffs, never had a winning record, who are starting in this league and you hear every excuse in the world, Sherman said. "It’s not his system; this system won’t work for him. These [other] quarterbacks are terrible in any system; these quarterbacks are bad in every system."
