Legendary emcee Redman made an appearance on Hot 97's Ebro In The Morning to plug his new hosting gig on VHI, and although he was a bit resistant to letting too much out the bag before he begins promotion for his upcoming Muddy Waters II album (slated for 2018), he was gracious enough to spare a couple of his high octane punchlines on the mic.

Following a discussion that primarily focused on Red's underappreciated presence as a distinct voice in rap history, the New Jersey native-turned-Staten Island Wu-Tang affiliate put a little wordplay down that took a second to come around, but hit hard when it counted. "Whoa, you thought 90's was a joke boy? You're nothing but a f**k boy, I'm a dope boy/ I'm Nino at the Carter and he a hair shorter/ But with my plan, I'm Ice with the Law & Order," he spit.

Before and after having to do it to 'em in the competitive spirit of hip-hop, Red let his appreciation for some of the young acts be known. He showed particular love for the likes of Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole for never compromising the raw integrity of their craft amidst a field of artists who he feels sway with the vibe of the day.

Scared Famous premiers Monday, October 23 on VH1.
