The Golden State Warriors celebrated their 2017 championship with a season-opening ring ceremony. The team won the fifth championship in the franchise's history.

Before their opening game against the Houston Rockets, the Warriors stood around a gold trophy as an announcer listed their accolades during the past season. Previous Warriors championship teams were also recognized, dating back to 1946. The 2016-2017 championship rings were presented by the team owners and the NBA commissioner.

"From a collection of the very best players in the world. Your warriors emerged victorious", said NBA commissioner Adam Silver. "They represent the very best values in all of sports, in all of life. Inclusion, diversity, leadership, character, those are the values that stand behind this league. Tonight we celebrate this championship team as they set goals, as they go out once again to show this league that they're the very best."

Warriors owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber were the first to receive the rings. Following the owners, Warriors president and COO received a ring. After the team staff/coaches were given their rings, the players got their moment to shine. The crowd roared loudly as each player's name was called. Steph Curry was the last to receive his ring as the crowd chanted "MVP."
