Recently, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made waves after stating that any Cowboys player who does anything "disrespectful to the flag" would not play. His comments followed the continuing bashing of the NFL by President Trump, who believes players who kneel during the national anthem are disrespecting the country. However, on Tuesday, October 17, while making his way to an NFL owners meeting, Jones faced harsh criticism for his remarks by protestors.

In the clip circling the web, Carl Dix, an African-American man, and Linda Solotaire, a white woman, spotted Jones and his Stephen and daughter Charlotte in the Conrad New York lobby and the pair were not shy about unloading on the owner. “You want to treat them [players] like $40 million slaves. Gladiators who are well paid to beat each other’s brains out, but they have to keep their mouths shut when talking about injustice." Dix said. "Look at the videos of the police getting away with murder and tell me are wrong for protesting, and that they have no right to do that.”

The protesters add to the list of individuals who have come out against the stance of Jones. Recently, rapper and activist Common said Jones displayed a “slave owner mentality" towards players expressing their first amendment rights.
