Earlier tonight, Boston Celtics player Gordon Hayward suffered a gruesome ankle injury in the season opener against the Cavaliers. While being carried out on a stretcher, LeBron James came over to offer a handshake and a pat on the back to Hayward, and according to reports, he even joined the injured athlete in the locker room.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that Isaiah Thomas, who recruited Hayward to the Celtics before being traded to Cleveland, also joined Hayward in the locker room. Windhorst added that Thomas was "visibly saddened" after walking out of the locker room.
