Harvey Weinstein resigned from the Board of Directors of The Weinstein Company after an ultimatum was given by the rest of the members.

The movie executive who has been accused of sexual misconduct by a slew of actresses reportedly decided to step down from the company he founded after he was given the choice by the board to either do so or be fired. Weinstein allegedly solicited sex from several actresses throughout his career including the likes of A-listers Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow. The Weinstein Company, founded by Harvey and his brother Bob in 2005, was responsible for a number of blockbuster and Academy Award-winning films. The studio produced many of Quentin Tarantino’s movies including “Django Unchained” and “Inglorious Basterds.” It also had a hand in producing several shows for network television such as “Project Runway All Stars” and documentaries on Casey Anthony, Kalief Browder, and Bill Cosby.

Weinstein has reportedly entered into rehab for sex addiction. He’s issued public apologies for the sexual misconduct allegations and told TMZ that he’s trying to get help. Actress Rose McGowan said in an interview recorded in January 2017 that Weinstein took things a bit further than misconduct alleging that he raped her when she was in her early 20s. She claimed that she was forced into a settlement and didn’t report it to police because she was advised by a lawyer that she would lose in a criminal case. She is one of 30 women who has come out recently against the producer. However, no criminal charges have been filed against him thus far.
