The Weeknd is the only artist in the last year to put out a double platinum album with 4 songs that went platinum or higher. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, that includes the singles, "Starboy" which went 5X platinum, "I Feel It Coming," which went 2X platinum and "Reminder" going platinum.

The crooner posted pictures with his platinum plaques celebrating the achievement to social media. What's funny about those pictures is his facial expression. Even with such a milestone to celebrate, he still manages to appear non-chalant. Although many say they "miss the old Weeknd," one has to admit he has come an incredibly long way in the short amount of time since starting out on mixtapes with Drake.

It's quite the feat, especially in a world of illegal downloads and bootlegging. Yet, The Weeknd has more to celebrate. In the last 5 years, Abel Tesfaye has sold over 35 million albums.

As if conquering the music industry is not enough, The Weeknd is taking his talents to the comic book world. Just last week the singer announced he was partnering with Marvel to release the "Starboy" comic series. There is no official release date for the project as of yet.
