Nelly has found himself in a dilemma.
The Grammy winning rapper was arrested early Saturday morning for second degree rape charges. According to the Auburn Police Department, a woman claimed she was raped on the rapper's tour bus, which was parked in a Walmart lot in Ridgefield, Washington.Auburn police spokesman Commander Steve Stocker said the 42-year-old rapper was arrested shortly afterward in his tour bus and booked at the South Correctional Entity jail in Des Moines, Washington.
Nelly, real name Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., is currently on tour with Florida Georgia Line in Ridgefield, Washington. They had just performed at the White River Amphitheater hours earlier.
Nelly's attorney, Scott Rosenblum has stated that the "Country Grammar" star is "the victim of a completely fabricated allegation.” The lawyer continued saying, “Our initial investigation, clearly establishes, this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”
The Auburn Police Department said it is continuing to investigate the incident.
