The terrorist responsible for killing over 50 people and injuring more than 200 at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, a white male living in Mesquite, Nevada - roughly 80 miles from Las Vegas. Police classify Paddock as a "local individual" who has been living in a Paddock retirement community since June 2016. He previously resided in Reno Nevada and Melbourne, Florida. Paddock was known to police, but information about his previous run-ins with the law have not been released yet. He does not have criminal convictions in Nevada and had no military service.

Paddock was married but going through a divorce. His wife has not been identified. He was living with a roommate named Marilou Danley, who the police are currently trying to locate. 62-year-old Danley has been identified as a 4'11" Asian woman. Her connection with the shooting is yet to be determined. Police are also seeking out two vehicles that could be connected with the murders - a Hyundai Tucson with Nevada license plate number 114B40 and a Chrysler Pacifica Touring with Nevada plate number 19D401.

Brian Sandoval, the Governer of Nevada, tweeted, “A tragic & heinous act of violence has shaken the #Nevada family. Our prayers are w/ the victims & all affected by this act of cowardice.”
