NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe held no punches when he gave his view on the protests that occurred over the weekend in the NFL after President Trump would call NFL players who kneel during the anthem a “son of a bitch” who should be removed from the field and fired.

Following the comments, Week 3 of the NFL season saw players alongside with owners protesting in their unique way. However, Sharpe feels many individuals, like Ray Lewis and NFL owners, should be called out for their “hypocrisy” of kneeling now after condemning Kaepernick.

“I'm unimpressed because this wasn't a protest this was unity," Sharpe said. "We showing solitary because of President Trump, he challenged the very men wealthy, wealthy men, billionaires and he told them what you should if someone protest. You should fire them. They don’t like being told what to do.”

While Sharpe furthered his thoughts by saying that Trump didn’t condemn the white nationalist during Charlottesville as hard as he did NFL players protesting Inequality, he feels the conversation is shifting from racial differences to free speech. “What were they unifying against, Its almost like they were uniting against Colin Kaepernick’s right for free speech. That not what Colin Kaepernick what talking about.”

At the 4:50-minute mark, Sharpe goes to task on Ray Lewis for previously stating there wouldn't protest by kneeling. "You kneeled you showed solidarity because of what Trump and when Colin Kaepernick is trying to draw attention to the injustices you deemed that inappropriate."
