Donald Trump and his administration have been taunting North Korea for some time now. Because of Trump’s words, North Korea Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho told reporters, “Since the U.S. declared war on our country, we will have every right to make countermeasures, including the right to shoot down the U.S. bombers even when they are not yet inside the airspace border of our country.”

Yong Ho also made reference to the tweets Trump has been sending, saying, “Last weekend, Trump claimed that our leadership wouldn't be around much longer and he declared a war on our country. Even the fact that this comes from someone who is currently holding the seat of the U.S. presidency is clearly a declaration of war."

Since then, the Trump administration has gone on to make it clear that no “declaration of war” has been made. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders made a statement during a press conference early Monday, saying, “We have not declared war on North Korean, and frankly the suggestion of that is absurd.”

She went on to say, “It’s never appropriate for a country to shoot down another country’s aircraft when the planes are over international waters.”
