Previously, Donald Trump took to Twitter to criticize Steph Curry after the player noted that he did not want to go to the White House. Trump said, “Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!” Immediately following Trump’s comments, LeBron James responded via Twitter by saying, “U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain’t going! So, therefore, ain’t no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!”

Now, during a recent press conference, James was asked about his comments towards Trump. James was asked if there was any regret about calling Trump a “bum,” the Cavs player responded by saying, “No.” He then went on to say, “Me and my friends call each other bum all the time, I’m not his friend though, I don’t wanna see that on the note. He’s not my friend.”

James noted that seeing Trump get upset after Curry already said he wasn’t coming made him laugh and prompted his response of calling the president a “bum.” He said it’s like him saying he’s not coming to someone’s party and that person going off and saying, “Ay LeBron guess what: you’re not invited.” James noted the statement didn’t make any sense and wasn’t needed because Curry wasn’t going to the White House anyway.
