Although we saw several NFL teams unify to protest injustice during the national anthem yesterday, NASCAR isn't having it. On Sunday, several NASCAR team owners agreed with President Trump, threatening to fire employees who don't stand during the song.

During the ISM Connect 300 in New Hampshire, retired driver and team owner Richard Petty said "Anybody who don't stand up for that ought to be out of our country. Period. If they don't appreciate where they're at...what got them where they're at? The United States." When team owner Team owner Richard Childress was asked what he'd do if one of his drivers took a knee during the anthem he responded, "Get you a ride on the Greyhound bus when the national anthem is over. I told them anyone who works for me should respect the country we live in. So many people gave their lives for it. This is America." The executive vice president of Penske Corp. said Team Penske doesn't have a personal policy on protests, but he doesn't anticipate having to handle the matter.

President Trump added fuel to the fire Friday when he used vulgarity in calling for NFL team owners to fire anyone who doesn't stand during the national anthem. The hastags #TakeAKnee and #TakeTheKnee have been trending since then.
