Donald Trump recently made comments about players in both the NBA and NFL and had some harsh criticism for both. Recently, NBA player Steph Curry made it known that he did not want to go to the White House, despite being extended an invite by the Trump Administration after winning the 2017 NBA Championship. Trump caught word of Curry’s comments and issued a response via Twitter, saying “Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!” From there, Trump shifted his focus to the NFL and the protests taking place during the national anthem. During a rally in Alabama for Sen. Luther Strange, Trump said NFL team owner should say to players “Get that son of a b-tch off the field right now, he’s fired. He’s fired!”

Many celebrities have chimed in with their thoughts, with the latest being Jidenna. The artist posted a video via IG saying “You know you done f-cked up right? You don’t pick the blackest ass f-ckin sports. You done pick NFL and the NBA, you should have picked hockey and golf.” Jidenna spoke on how outspoken and smart new players of today are, noting that they use their platform to speak on injustice because they realize the power of their voice and platform. He then went on to say he was proud of all the athletes and owners who are taking a stand against Trump and his actions. Watch above.
