John Wall, the Washington Wizards' point guard, became the first of John Calipari's players to be inducted into the Kentucky basketball Hall of Fame on Friday and boy did he give one heck of a speech. He made a few laughs and shed a few tears during his speech, which he did state he would try not to do:

“It’s going to be great. It’s going to be very fun, very exciting having my close friends and my family there, Wall said on the “Off the Bench” Washington Wizards podcast. “I’m going to do my best not to cry. I know my mom’s going to cry, so I’m going to try not to look at her while I’m talking.”

During his speech Wall made the following statement:

"I just wanted to say thank you for being my mom," Wall said through tears. "I know it [was] tough growing up with me and my two sisters, seeing my dad go to jail at a young age and you sacrificing everything."

Wall was inducted along with Randall Cobb, Collin Cowgill, Ralph Hacker, Sherry Hoover Bordner and Sarah Rumely during Hall of Fame Weekend.
