Amid backlash from fans, players, various team owners and executives across the league, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell instituted a degree of damage control by issuing a statement denouncing President Trump's remarks on Colin Kaepernick and those who protest in solidarity with him. But the damage wasn't over, as Goodell's siding with the bunch targeted in his Alabama speech only prompted the nations unhinged Commander-In-Chief to turn his crosshairs on football's lead administrator.

"Roger Goodell of NFL just put out a statement trying to justify the total disrespect certain players show to our country.Tell them to stand!" Trump tweeted before nightfall.

The message capped off an explosive day in sporting news. Less than 24-hours after Trump advising owners to fire players who take a knee, he went nuclear on the Golden State Warriors, through a tweet he sent out to announce he was withdrawing the NBA star's invitation to the White House. Thus, outrage poured in from across the spectrum of American team sports, with even Major League Baseball seeing its first player-protester in Oakland A's catcher, Bruce Maxwell. And to make matters worse, it appears that the President may have stepped over the line, even with those he posed to champion with his remarks, as owners and executives from the New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, and L.A. Chargers have put out statements in opposition to his remarks.
