News has arrived saying that singer Charles Bradley, also known as the “Screaming Eagle of Soul,” has passed away. The singer, whose life ended up being spotlighted on the documentary Charles Bradley: Soul of America, had his career take off nearly 62 years after he first started making music. When speaking about how long it took to be discovered, he said “It took 62 years for somebody to find me, but I thank God. Some people never get found.” The singer made appearances in shows like Suits, Vampire Diaries, and Marvel’s Luke Cage. Only years after the singer got his big break with the release of his album No Time For Dreaming, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Bradley tried to push through the disease and go on tour, but the cancer came back and spread to his liver.

Via his Facebook page, the news of his death was announced. The post said “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles Bradley. Mr. Bradley was truly grateful for all the love he’s received from his fans and we hope his message of love is remembered and carried on. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
