Players from around the NFL are flooding social media to denounce President Trump's suggestion that team owners begin to fire players who protest during the playing of the National Anthem. Trump's comments might have gotten a rise out of supporters who came to see him campaign for Senate hopeful Luther Strange in Alabama on Friday, September 22, but by the same token his request that owners "get that son of a b***h off the field," as soon as someone kneels, was cringeworthy to many.

Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall, T.J. Ward, Zach Brown, Michael Thomas, Eric Ebron, Chris Conley, Arian Foster, Bishop Sankey, Rishard Matthews, Cecil Shorts III and Justin Forsett are some of the names who've gotten behind Colin Kaepernick and those who've taken up protests after him since the President's remarks. Denver Broncos safety T.J. Ward tweeted, "Gives more reason," and Michael Thomas of the New Orleans Saints sent out a tweet that was just as indicative of a possible push from players to be even more overt with the league-wide protest.

"Continue to use your voices and your platforms for racial equality and to stop injustices in our communities. This is bigger than us," Thomas wrote.
