Since the break-up of Roc-A-Fella Records, hip-hop fans continue to reflect on the days of HOV and Dame. Both entrepreneurs have led very successful and separate careers, still almost every time one gets in front of a camera they end up being asked about the Roc-A-Fella times. Last year Dame had a very memorable interview on The Breakfast Club when he and DJ Envy got into a verbal quarrel over a question about Jay.

Most recently, Kenyatta of Hip Hop Motivation, spoke with Dame Dash about his early business challenges while running Roc-A-Fella. Dame opens up without any resentment or emotional charge. Dame described his contributions to building the ROC as boundless. Dash recollects on a time when he was taking the stage as a hype man and he said, despite not enjoying being on stage, he was the CEO and the hype man. He went on to say that being on stage was embarrassing for him and that he only was a hype man for Jay-Z because Jay was boring on stage. Dash closes that quote by saying that this is something that Jay admittedly struggled with.
