Warner Bros Records has added a new young talent to their ever growing collection of artists. On Thursday, the record label with the likes of iLoveMakonnen, Mac Miller, and PartyNextDoor announced the signing of Internet sensation 12-year-old Matt Ox.
Earlier this year, the young Philly rapper gained popularity with his hit single "Overwhelming". The track has gained close to 5 million on Soundcloud, and the video for the song has well over 14 million views. Many may recall his video circling social media as he was rapping over a trap beat showing off cash and jewelry, all while playing with fidget spinners.
The news of Matt Ox's record deal comes after 14-year-old viral star Danielle Bregoli recently signed a contract with Atlantic Records. While Ox does not have an extensive catalog, Warner Bros must see Matt Ox as a future star considering many of videos tally well over a million in views. His signing continues Warner Bros recent trend of scooping up rappers with major SoundCloud followings, including Sahbabii and Lil Pump.
