Donald Trump previously said that the United States would “totally destroy” North Korea if the U.S. is forced to defend itself or its allies against any potential attacks. Along with that, Trump ended up saying that Iran was not fit to be heard at the United Nations. Now, Iran’s president Hassan Rouhini has called out Donald Trump, saying his statements about Iran are not fit to be at the UN is “ignorant, absurd, and hateful rhetoric.”

Rouhini said, “It will be a great pity if this agreement were to be destroyed by rogue newcomers to the world of politics.” The agreement Iran’s president is referencing is the U.N. backed Iran nuclear deal that Trump previously called “an embarrassment” during an address of his own. Rouhini went on to say “The world will have lost a great opportunity, but such unfortunate behavior will never impede Iran’s course of progress and advancement.” The President of Iran has previously accused the Trump administration of not staying true to their requirements on the sanctions relief under the nuclear deal, which he feels is harming America. Rouhini went on to say “By violating its international commitments, the new U.S. administration only destroys its own credibility and undermines international confidence in negotiating with it or accepting its word or promise.”
