The undefeated light-heavyweight champion, Andre Ward announced his retirement Thursday via a video he posted on his Twitter account. Ward, 33, decided to hang up the gloves once and for all and said in a statement that he no longer had a desire to continue fighting. In the video montage, you'll see the young boxer starting out his career while a young man's voice in the background says " all I want to do is be a fighter." Then Ward takes you down memory lane with vintage videos of him as a young fighter all the way through his professional career.
In the conclusion of the video you see Ward approach the camera while in dimly-lit box gym and he says "I did it." As the camera transitions to his championship belts, one can't help but be reminiscent of Ward's incredible boxing career. The fight also released an official retirement statement on his website. The San Fransico-born fighter is ending his career undefeated at 32-0.
