Demonstrating once again that he's serious about his hip-hop aspirations, Damian Lillard recently took it a capella, spitting bars in a freestyle for Mass Appeal.

"Last of a dying breed and they taking me for granted / I represent the ones working for it, nothing handed," begins the Trail Blazers baller in the freestyle posted to YouTube on Wednesday.

Avoiding the common themes of chasing women and riches, Lillard goes a little deeper with his rhymes and speaks on recognizing and rising above the struggles of his community.

"The world is all backwards, how we lazy and demanding / We ain't working towards dreams, we just working towards mansions / And the money is the root of all evil...how easy they deceive you / Lately I've been feeling bad for my people 'cause our app game cold, and real life slacking."

Dame seems to be putting a place a solid foundation for transitioning into a rap career after his days on the hardwood come to an end.

Rapping under the moniker Dame D.O.L.L.A., his debut album, The Letter O, released last October and boasted features from Jamie Foxx, Juvenile, and Lil Wayne, among others.

Hear Lillard spit a brand new freestyle in the clip up top.
