A 7.1 magnitude earthquake rocked Mexico City on Tuesday (September 19), toppling buildings to the ground. The footage of buildings collapsing have made their way online, including one that shows people standing in the streets in fear that a building was about to collapse. A few seconds later, the building comes crumbling to the ground.

Many are comparing the devastating earthquake to an 8.0 magnitude earthquake that hit Mexico City in 1985. The earthquake killed at least 5,000 people, and today's quake killed at least 61 so far. That number is expected to rise in the coming days.
