Back in January Lil Wayne's daughter Reginae retweeted a post comparing her father to Kodak Black, by responding that the New Orleans rap great "doesn't even know who the heck Kodak is." It was a time during which Kodak was persistently going at Wayne's head on social media. The conflict was awkward, seeing how the public was oblivious as to what might have brought about the animosity. During a recent live stream session, the Pompano Beach rapper finally revealed what triggered him to throw shots at his hip-hop elder, and it apparently reeks of the attitude projected from Wayne's little girl.

"A n***a tried to smurf a n***a, like, like, like, he don't know who I am and s**t," Kodak told fans. The Painting Pictures rapper revealed that he first lost it on the rapper he's looked up to since childhood, while drunk off of Patron and Grey Goose. While he acknowledged initially understanding that he had exceeded his boundaries, Kodak said he basically saw what was done, as done, and at that point had no intentions of taking back what he said.

It is difficult to gauge exactly when Kodak felt dismissed by Wayne, as, he can be cited as provoking him as far back as December of 2016. That's when Kodak claimed king, tweeting out, "Lil Wayne ain't the best f**king rapper alive, I am." But it wasn't until one month later that it became increasingly apparent that something might have been in the air. Fans might recall Kodak posting a video in which he told Weezy he could "eat [his] a**." That recording was followed up by one posted after Kodak got up with A Boogie With Da Hoodie, who was motivated to bet jewelry on a prospective boxing match between the two Southern rappers when Kodak issued a challenge with: "Tell Lil Wayne fight me. We finna get in the ring and we finna fight. I'm finna knock that stupid a** n**** out."

Many thought Kodak had stepped way over the line with his remarks and within hours goons claiming to rep for the rap legend would take to social media to see if that's how Kodak really felt. Then there were the peers of each rapper, with everyone from Kyyngg, to Kolyon, to Turk interceding in the matter.
