Carlos Muñoz Portal, a location scout for the Netflix hit show, Narcos, was found shot to death in Mexico on Monday. 37-year-old Munoz was found in his bullet-riddled car in a secluded area in San Bartolo Actopan, near the borders of Hidalgo state. His body was discovered hours after he was headed to the State fo Mexico to take production photographs.

Munoz was in Mexico scouting for locations to film season four for Narcos when his murder occurred.

Netflix issued the following statement:

“We are aware of the passing of Carlos Muñoz Portal, a well-respected location scout, and send our condolences to his family. The facts surrounding his death are still unknown as authorities continue to investigate."

Munoz worked for Redrum, a production company based in Mexico City. He's been working in the industry for over a decade and has contributed to a number of movies including Apocalypto, Fast & Furious, Sicario, and Spectre.

The murder is being investigated but as of now there are no witnesses according to the Attorney General of the State of Mexico.
