Hurricane Harvey recently hit Houston, Texas and some of the surrounding areas pretty hard, and now it looks like Florida might become the next state to be hit by a major storm. According to reports, a category five storm that has been named “Irma” is making its way towards Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Antigua, and then possibly heading making its way towards the US. Although there is no path set in stone for the direction of the storm, it appears as if Irma may reach Florida. Because of that, residents of lower Florida have been bracing themselves for the storm as well.

Monroe County in Florida said that they would be ordering visitors to evacuate the area by sunrise early Wednesday morning, and they would issue an announcement for the time when residents of the state should evacuate. Because of the pending storm, residents have already begun to rack up on survival items and food. Many reports, along with social media posts showed that many supermarkets in the Miami area were sold out of water because of the upcoming storm.

The hurricane warning was issued to a handful of islands and regions that will possibly experience winds up to 75 miles per hour. Some of the islands that were issued the warning included St. Maarten, St. Barts, US Virgin Islands, and St. Kitts.
