Rapper XXXTentacion scared his fans when he posted a video clip of what appeared to be him hanging himself. The short four-second clip was posted on his Instagram account without a caption. It seemed to show the rapper hanging from a tree.
Fans and critics debated over whether or not the clip was real or just promotion for his new album 17, which is due out this Friday (Aug. 25). The XXL Freshman posted that this album is for his depressed fans, and he previously posted a picture of the cover art which featured disturbing handwritten notes including "There is no end to the pain. You must be numb."
A couple hours after the disturbing video clip, XXXTentacion posted another clip which shows the first is part of a video shoot. He wrote in the caption, "if you thought I would "pretend" to kill myself for a publicity stunt you're fucking stupid."
