Recently in Phoenix, Donald Trump held a campaign-style rally which was met with peaceful protesters directly outside of his event. The protestors remained outside of the Phoenix Convention Center almost six hours later protesting the president. According to reports, the police and protestors began clash which led to the cops firing pepper balls, or pepper spray projectiles to get rid of the unruly crowd.

Videos from the incident show police standing off with protestors, with the cops wearing gas masks while standing behind riot shields. Once the police realized the crowd wasn’t going to back down, tear gas was let off, and pepper spray bombs were shot in the air. According to a bystander and student from University of Arizona named Jalyana Ramos, “Everyone was just standing there.” She went on to say “We were literally just standing there, just hanging out. Literally out of nowhere people started running. It sounded like a really loud gunshot and I saw a woman on the floor in tears.”

Police announced on a loudspeaker that anyone who stayed in the area would be arrested. From there, police kept pushing along with trying to disperse the crowd, eventually pepper-spraying a crowd that had a little girl in it.
