With Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s fight against Conor McGregor less than one week away, something has caught The Money Team boss' attention that he refrains from admitting is a concern from him. So long as Dana White and the UFC know that they will pay for it if they don't get on McGregor's camp pronto.

"Conor McGregor is extremely heavy right now. Extremely heavy," Mayweather told Fight Hype before heading home from a workout at the Mayweather Boxing Club early Monday, August 22. The Vegas showdown is contracted to take place at 154 pounds. McGregor is currently sitting at around 164 pounds, Mayweather claims. "I mean, y'all get that extra money. If you can't make the weight, get them extra millions ready Dana."

Losing ten pounds in one week is totally possible for a fighter. But doing so does bear the risk of draining them going into the fight. It isn't uncommon for boxers to hit the scales over the mark, and in fact, some do it with the intention of gaining an advantage. A number of consequences typically come of failure to make weight. A sanctioning body will void the fight as a title match if one of the fighters hold a belt, the offending party will be fined, and the opponent gets the choice to determine whether the show goes on. Neither Mayweather nor McGregor is bringing a boxing belt into the bout, so the title defense rule wouldn't be applicable, and he says that he is committed to moving ahead with the fight regardless. But he will be expecting a little something on top of his nine figure pay day.
