The A-Town Music Fest turned out to be a beauty for true Atlanta hip hop heads on Saturday, August 19, as those on hand got to witness a historic moment for the city. Big Boi, Youngbloodz, Raheem The Dream, Kilo Ali were some of the names on the bill, but Big Gipp, Khujo, T-Mo and CeeLo Green were the only names that wound up mattering when fans of the legendary group look back in hindsight years from now.

The Dungeon Family foursome gave the crowd what it wanted as they performed through 25 years worth of music from their seminal catalog. But before it was time to leave the stage, they were given a moment to fall back and just take it all in, as city councilman and mayoral candidate Kwanza Hall came out to reward them with a proclamation that establishes August 19 as "Goodie Mob Day" in Atlanta.

Members of the group humbly accepted the distinction but didn't have much to say about it. Neither has the moment received much love in the media. But long-time friend Choke No Joke was front and center at the event to take in the tribute, and he opened up about it with a few words on Instagram. "I'm proud to witness such a wonderful moment in these guys careers. As you can see these guys stood the test of time. Not too many groups can stay together this long," he wrote. "No matter what they may have went through behind the scenes they see that the fans come first and they can put egos aside to please those who help them achieve this moment."
